TSMC manufactures for the companies that design the chips, rather than designing its own, and at the leading edge it has very little competition. That makes it less a semiconductor stock than a toll on the entire industry: when any large designer does well, this company already sold them the wafers. It also means the usual competitive analysis does not apply, because the customers are not the rivals.
