Read at 2026-10-01 21:18 UTC through our own keyless relay, and refreshed at most every five minutes. This is the price of a token backed one for one by the share, which trades continuously; it is not the exchange last trade. Any figure quoted from this page is accurate as of that time and not afterwards.

A century-old company valued on a recent decision

IBM sold or spun out most of the businesses it was known for and kept consulting, software and mainframes. What the share now prices is whether that smaller company grows, which is a question about software margins and consulting bookings rather than about anything the brand evokes. Comparisons to its own history mislead badly.

The mainframe is the part people forget

A substantial share of profit still comes from mainframes and the software that runs on them, bought by banks and insurers who cannot easily move. That revenue is lumpy, because it follows a hardware cycle every few years, and it is the single most predictable thing in the business. A quarter that looks odd is often just where the cycle is.

What a backed token gives you and what it costs you

An issuer buys the share, holds it with a custodian, and issues a token against it. You get a price that never closes and settlement in minutes; you give up the vote, dividends depend on the issuer's terms, and there is a counterparty between you and the share.

The part we cannot verify

We read the token's price, its traded volume and the value of tokens in issue. We do not audit the custody behind it. The price was checked against the exchange's last close when this page was built and agreed to within a percent. For the official price, use the exchange or a broker.
