A brokerage's shares, traded as a crypto derivative
Robinhood is a retail brokerage that earns a meaningful part of its revenue from routing customer orders, including crypto. A perpetual on its stock, quoted on a crypto exchange, is therefore a leveraged bet on retail trading activity placed through the same kind of venue that activity flows through. That circularity is worth naming: when retail volume rises, both the company's revenue and the market you are trading it on tend to get busier together.
This is not the Nasdaq last trade
A perpetual has no expiry, settles in cash, and gives you no share, no vote and no dividend. It also trades when Nasdaq is closed, which is the usual reason the two numbers differ at any given moment. For the official price, use the exchange or a broker. This page is about what the derivative is doing.
Weekend and overnight quotes are thinner, not wrong
Because the contract trades continuously and the underlying does not, the quote outside market hours is formed by fewer participants with no fresh reference. That is when the spread widens and when a move is most likely to be a positioning event rather than news. Check the spread and the time in the read line before treating an out-of-hours print as information.
