A Claude Code alternative for when you want the app, not the repository
A Claude Code alternative is worth looking at when you do not have a repository yet: Claude Code edits a project you already own from the terminal, and a builder takes a description and returns a running hosted app with the code available, which is a different starting point rather than a different skill level.

The difference is the starting point, not the model
Both are driven by a large language model and both write real code. What differs is what they assume you already have. A terminal agent assumes a checkout, a toolchain and somewhere to run it. A builder assumes none of that and hands back something already running on a URL.
Where a terminal agent costs you time
Setting up a project, choosing a framework, wiring a build, finding an API, handling keys and deploying it are each easy and together they are an afternoon. That afternoon sits between you and knowing whether the idea was worth building, which is the question you actually wanted answered.
What you get instead here
You describe the app and get a running preview, hosted, with the code available to export. Where it needs market data there are public endpoints that need no key, so the generated app reads real prices rather than placeholders. Who should not switch
If you work in a large existing codebase every day, a terminal agent operating on that repository is the right tool and a builder is not a substitute for it. This is for the first hour of an idea, not the thousandth hour of a product.

Common questions
Is this the same thing as Claude Code?
No. Claude Code is an agent that works inside a repository from your terminal and edits the files you already have. This takes a description and returns a running hosted app with the code available, so it is aimed at the point before a repository exists.
Can I still get the code?
Yes. Everything generated is exportable and the published app is an ordinary static bundle. Nothing is locked in a proprietary format, and you can take the project into an editor or a terminal agent afterwards if that is where you want to continue.
Which should I use for a real product?
Most likely both, at different stages. Start from a description while you are still deciding whether the idea works, then move into a repository with a terminal agent once the answer is yes and the work becomes maintenance rather than discovery.
