Read at 2026-09-29 10:08 UTC through our own keyless relay, and refreshed at most every five minutes. This is the price of a token backed one for one by the share, which trades continuously; it is not the exchange last trade. Any figure quoted from this page is accurate as of that time and not afterwards.

A marketplace's economics turn on who is scarce this week

Uber does not own the cars and does not employ most of the drivers, so its margin depends on how much it must pay to keep supply on the road against what riders will pay. In a tight labour market driver incentives rise and take rate falls, with no change in demand at all. That is the variable most commentary misses and the one that moves guidance.

Regulation is a per-city risk that arrives as a step

Driver classification, licensing caps and airport access are decided jurisdiction by jurisdiction, and a single adverse ruling in a large market reprices the whole company. These are court and council calendars rather than earnings calendars, which is why a large single-hour move on the chart above often has no financial news behind it.

What a backed token gives you and what it costs you

An issuer buys the share, holds it with a custodian, and issues a token against it. You get a price that never closes; you give up the vote and take the issuer as a counterparty. The tokenised float above tells you how small this particular market is, which matters most precisely when you are reading a move that happened while the exchange was shut.

The part we cannot verify

We read the token's price, its traded volume and the value of tokens in issue. We do not audit the custody behind it. The price was checked against the exchange's last close when this page was built and agreed to within one percent. For the official price, use the exchange or a broker.
