Read at 2026-09-28 01:12 UTC through our own keyless relay, and refreshed at most every five minutes. This is the price of a token backed one for one by the share, which trades continuously; it is not the exchange last trade. Any figure quoted from this page is accurate as of that time and not afterwards.

A subscription business is why the volatility is usually low

Most of Microsoft's revenue arrives on contracts that renew, which makes the next quarter unusually predictable for a company of its size. Predictable revenue compresses realised volatility, and the figure above is often the lowest of any large technology name in a quiet week. When it is not, something has changed in the part of the business that is not contracted, which in recent years has meant cloud capacity and the capital spending behind it.

Size changes what a percentage means

At this market value a one percent move is a very large absolute number, and index funds must hold it in proportion, which dampens the price in both directions. The practical effect is that the seven-day range above is usually narrow, so the position within it carries more information than the width does. A name like this reaching the top of its weekly range is a stronger signal than a volatile small cap doing the same.

What a backed token gives you and what it costs you

An issuer holds the share with a custodian and issues a token against it. You get a continuously quoted price and fast settlement; you give up the vote and you take the issuer as a counterparty. For a company whose shareholder base is overwhelmingly institutional and whose stock is easy to buy through any broker, the honest reason to use the token is the clock, not the access.

The part we cannot verify

We read the token's price, its traded volume and the value of tokens in issue. We do not audit the custody behind it, and we cannot confirm from here that every token is currently backed. The price was checked against the exchange's last close when this page was built and agreed to within one percent. For the official price, use Nasdaq or a broker.
