Read at 2026-09-29 10:08 UTC through our own keyless relay, and refreshed at most every five minutes. This is the price of a token backed one for one by the share, which trades continuously; it is not the exchange last trade. Any figure quoted from this page is accurate as of that time and not afterwards.

A database company the market now prices as a cloud landlord

Oracle's licence and support revenue is one of the most predictable streams in software, and for two decades that is what the share price reflected. The argument now is about capacity contracts for training and serving AI models, which are capital intensive, signed years ahead, and disclosed in a backlog figure rather than in revenue. That mismatch between what is earned and what is argued about is why the realised volatility above can jump on a single sentence in an earnings call.

Backlog is a promise, and promises have delivery risk

Remaining performance obligations tell you what customers have committed to, not what Oracle has built or been paid for. Filling those contracts means datacentres, power and chips, all bought up front. A large backlog is therefore both the bull case and the source of the balance-sheet risk, and the market reprices the ratio between them regularly. Read a sharp move on the chart above with that in mind before assuming the business changed.

What a backed token gives you and what it costs you

An issuer buys the share, holds it with a custodian, and issues a token against it. You get a price that never closes and settlement in minutes. You give up the vote, you depend on the issuer's terms for anything dividend-like, and you take counterparty risk you would not have holding the share through a broker. This page is about the token; the exchange is where the share itself is priced.

The part we cannot verify

We read the token's price, its traded volume and the value of tokens in issue. We do not audit the custody behind it, and we cannot confirm from here that every token is currently backed. The price was checked against the exchange's last close when this page was built and agreed to within half a percent. For the official price, use the exchange or a broker.
