Sui stores assets as objects, not as balances in accounts

Most chains keep a ledger of account balances and process transactions one after another because any two might touch the same row. Sui gives every asset its own addressed object, so two transfers that share nothing can be settled at the same time. That design choice is the whole technical argument for the network, and no price, volume or funding figure on this page tells you anything about whether it is working. For that you would read transaction throughput, not a chart.

A large share of supply was still locked at launch, and unlocks are scheduled

Networks of this generation distributed most of the token to a treasury, early backers and a staking subsidy, released over years on a published calendar. The float that trades is therefore smaller than the stated supply, and it grows on known dates. When the seven-day chart above shows a move with no news attached, an unlock in the same week is worth checking before reaching for a narrative.

What the realised volatility figure is measuring here

The number below the chart is computed from hourly closes over the last seven days and annualised, which is a backward-looking description of how much this market has been moving. It is not a forecast and it is not the volatility an option would be sold at. On a market this size a single large trade can lift it for a day, so read it next to the volume figure rather than alone.

What this price is not

It is a cash-settled contract on one venue at the moment the page rendered. It gives you no SUI, no staking reward and no vote on the network. Funding on this page is shown per interval and is not annualised, because the interval the venue uses is not something we can confirm from a public feed.
