XRP price, live from a perpetual market
The XRP price on this page is the live price of a perpetual futures contract, read from the order book each time the page is served, alongside the spread, the funding rate and the open interest behind it.
Read from the exchange as this page rendered. This is a perpetual contract on XRP rather than a spot quote, and the two are close without being the same number.

Why XRP carries more open interest than its market cap suggests
XRP attracts a large, persistent retail following and a long-running institutional story about settlement, and the combination produces leveraged positioning out of proportion to the token's size. The open interest figure above is the honest measure of that: it says how much contract value is currently outstanding, and on XRP it is routinely heavy relative to the daily volume beside it. A market where positioning is large and turnover is thin moves further per unit of flow than the price alone suggests.
Funding on a crowded narrative
Funding is the payment between longs and shorts that keeps a perpetual near spot. On an asset whose holders are as directional as XRP's, funding is less a technical detail than a sentiment reading: sustained positive funding means longs are paying to stay long, which is a measurable statement about crowding rather than about the asset. Read it over days, because a single interval says almost nothing.
What this price is not
It is not the spot price on an exchange where you can take delivery of XRP, and it is not a reference rate. It is what one perpetual order book is quoting at the moment this page was built. The number tracks spot closely because funding pulls it there, and on a sharp move it can lead or lag by more than you would expect from the tracking error on a calm day.
Reading the spread before the price
The spread column says what it costs to get in and out right now, and it is the number that decides whether a price is actionable. A tight spread on a large book means the quote is real in size; the same quote with a wide spread means the price is an opinion held by very few people. On XRP the book is usually deep, which makes the spread a reasonable proxy for how seriously to take a move.
