Google stock price, live, and what GOOGL actually is

The Google stock price is quoted on Nasdaq under Alphabet's tickers GOOGL and GOOG, and the number on this page is a perpetual futures contract on GOOGL read live from Pacifica, with the seven-day range, realised volatility and book spread beside it.

Read from the exchange as this page rendered. Google's parent Alphabet trades on Nasdaq as GOOGL and GOOG; the figure below is a perpetual future on GOOGL quoted on a crypto venue.

GOOGL and GOOG are not the same ticker

Alphabet has two listed share classes. GOOGL is Class A and carries one vote; GOOG is Class C and carries none. They track each other closely and trade at slightly different prices, and the gap between them is a real, if small, measure of what a vote is worth. This page reads the GOOGL contract. If you are comparing against a quote elsewhere, check which class it is before concluding the numbers disagree.

A search business priced as an AI business

Most of Alphabet's revenue is still advertising against search queries, while most of the argument about its price is about model capability and cloud. That mismatch is why the realised volatility above can sit high through a quarter with no change in the underlying business: the market is repricing a thesis, not a cash flow. The seven-day chart shows how much of that repricing happened in single hours.

This is not the Nasdaq last trade

A perpetual has no expiry, settles in cash, and gives you no share, no vote and no dividend, which is worth stating twice on a stock whose share classes differ precisely by voting rights. It trades continuously, so it differs from the Nasdaq close whenever something happens outside market hours. For the official price use the exchange or a broker.

The part we cannot verify

Pacifica publishes the symbol, the book and hourly candles. It does not publish how the GOOGL reference price is derived, nor its funding interval, so the funding figure above is per interval and not annualised. Read the venue's terms before trading it rather than trusting this page.
